At the centre of this incense holder is a lotus — rendered in turquoise and peach on a dome of sunflower yellow, rising from a wide cobalt bowl painted with the sweeping floral motifs that have defined Jaipur blue pottery for centuries. Three holes sit at the top of the raised dome, holding your sticks upright while the wide bowl below collects the ash. Nothing falls, nothing scatters. Just smoke, and stillness, and a piece of Rajasthan on your shelf.

The Craft

Jaipur blue pottery takes its name from the cobalt oxide that gives it colour — a pigment ground and applied by hand by artisans who have inherited this tradition across generations. The base is not clay but quartz paste, a material that produces blue pottery's distinctive weight, its high-gloss surface, and the warm terracotta unglazed foot visible on the base of this bowl. Each piece is wheel-thrown, glazed by hand, and painted entirely freehand. No two are identical.
